Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how DTT Ireland ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

If you choose to sign in, we collect your email address and a display name via Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In or anonymous account). You may use the App anonymously without creating an account.

2.2 Usage Data

We collect data about how you use the App through Firebase Analytics, including:

• Questions answered and your responses
• Practice sessions, exam attempts, and scores
• Study streaks, XP earned, and progress per category
• Scenario Mode performance (timing, decisions)
• Language selected
• App version, device type, and operating system version

2.3 Crash and Diagnostic Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information to improve App stability. This data does not include personally identifiable information beyond device and OS type.

2.4 Advertising Data

The free version of DTT Ireland displays ads served by Google AdMob and Unity Ads. These third parties may collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies to serve relevant advertising. You can opt out of personalised ads in the App settings or through your device's advertising settings.

Premium users (one-time €1.99 purchase) see no ads and have no advertising data collected through the App.

2.5 Question Content and Images

Question images and media are served from Cloudflare R2 (object storage). Cloudflare may log standard access request metadata (IP, timestamp, user-agent) as part of its CDN service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and personalise your learning experience (spaced repetition, readiness scoring)
• Sync your progress across devices when you are signed in
• Improve App features, fix bugs, and identify performance issues
• Serve relevant advertising in the free version
• Verify Premium purchase status

4. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore database) on servers in the European Union region (europe-west1). We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of your data
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing of your data for direct marketing

6. Third-Party Services

DTT Ireland uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting
• Google AdMob — advertising (free version only)
• Unity Ads — advertising (free version only)
• Cloudflare R2 — media content delivery
• Google Play Billing — in-app purchases (Premium)
• Huawei AppGallery Connect — in-app purchases on Huawei devices

7. Children's Privacy

DTT Ireland is intended for users aged 17 and over (the minimum age to obtain an Irish driving licence). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
